    Manage and supervise the VA certification unit and the certification process for military benefits, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Advise student Veterans, their families and dependents of their rights under military service benefits acts and other relevant legislation. Serve as lead School Certifying Official (SCO); maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing the application of military-connected education benefits. Serves as University liaison; provides accurate information to student veterans, dependents, and university and VA officials. Facilitates collaborative relationships with departments campus wide to ensure quality of service and compliance with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Hires, trains, and supervises one or more direct reports, ensuring team members’ competency and effectiveness.

This position will assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of a strategic plan for the Office of Admissions. This position will ensure the continuity and quality of all transfer recruitment efforts aimed at attracting and enrolling new transfer students to the University of Utah. Integral to this role is ensuring superior levels of customer service, and fostering seamless interactions between prospective transfer students, university departments, and various stakeholders.
